Thanks to some great planning, all eight brand new vehicles were delivered to Stax Manchester on March 31st. Three brand new articulated cabs and five 18 tonne curtain sided DAF lorries lined up to be picked up by the new driver team and taken to their branches.
“With a 23% growth in delivered customer sales in the last year, this marks a significant step forward in ensuring we keep pace with demand.” says Stax Trade Centres Operations Director Nigel Wright. “I want to make sure I say a thank you for the excellent service, Ryder have provided over the last 7 years, but I’m really looking forward to seeing Michelle and the in-house team push our service to new heights.”
Transport Manager Michelle Hathaway and new Planner Kerri Blundell, travelled up from Stax Birmingham to make sure everything went to plan and ensured all the drivers received their training before they drove off in convoy.
Michelle reflected on the day and said, “I am really pleased with how smoothly the delivery of vehicles went and looking forward to the future of in house transport for Stax.” She went on to say “I have been made very welcome and settled into the role quickly. The success of this first stage has been made possible by the drivers and the team in transport, I would like to thank them for their effort.”
