Careers at Stax

As a company, Stax has a reputation as a first-class employer with almost 50 percent of the company's entire workforce having been employed for over 10 years as well as a good handful for over 30 years.

Our Story

Stax Trade Centres has grown from just a single warehouse in the outskirts of Manchester in 1981 to a leading national multi-channel wholesaler, operating from six massive branches. With over 600 staff, Stax is at the forefront of the non-food wholesale sector with over 50,000 members. You're likely to find a Stax retailer member in almost every town or city in the UK. This means the products that move through the Stax supply chain, touch the lives of well over a third of the UK population.

Almost half of the entire Stax team have been employed for over 10 years. Our ethos has always been to promote from within, with many of our senior team rising through the ranks.

Meet our IT Director, Della Butler

Della Butler joined Stax at the age of 18 as a Shop Floor Section Assistant. Over the years, she progressed through roles in the Buying Office, becoming Group Purchasing Manager before moving to the IT department. In 2004, she was appointed IT Director.

Now leading the company’s IT systems and data management, Della heads a team of four all of whom have been promoted from within the business, reflecting our commitment to internal development.
