What to look for in a workwear provider

Partnering with a workwear provider isn’t a decision to be taken lightly. If you choose a goo

Partnering with a workwear provider isn’t a decision to be taken lightly. If you choose a good one it’s a decision you might never have to make again! There are many things that should be considered when on the hunt for a good workwear provider, not least of all budget, but there are also a number of less obvious considerations to be mindful of.

The Garments

The workwear itself should be considered in more ways than one; first up, quality. It can be tempting to source lower quality garments in the pursuit of stretching a budget as far as it will go. However, it should be noted that cheaper garments are usually reflected in the quality. The initial outlay may be smaller, but the replacement interval will almost certainly be shorter. It often pays to buy good quality items in the first place as they’ll last longer and do a better job.

The size of the range and variety of garments, styles and fabrics should also be considered! A good workwear provider will be able to give you choice and value. You might need different fabrics for different jobs, seasons and job roles, for example. Make sure the workwear provider you choose has a good range of quality products to select from.

The Provider

It’s often advisable to source workwear from a single provider. Not only will this mean they are likely to be compatible, you’ll also be assured of the quality across all garments and could benefit from economies of scale and bulk discounts.

Service is just as important as price in many aspects. You want to choose a reliable provider who can guarantee you the level of service you require and have the ability to deliver to your time frames and in the right quantities.

Additional services should be considered, including measuring, fitting and branding. You want a provider who can ensure your staff all have well-fitting gear that’s branded up to best represent your business. Not all providers can handle this in a cost-effective and efficient manner or even have the machinery necessary to brand properly, such as embroidery.

Better manufacturers will often be able to cater to your needs in other ways too, such as being able to visit you on site and introduce the workforce to their new gear. Not only is this a great way to roll out your new workwear, it can also save you bags of time with them coming to you instead!
