Stax launch Big Green Book of own brands

Stax Trade Centres and Wishart have recently launched their 2012 own brands collection at the Totall

Stax Trade Centres and Wishart have recently launched their 2012 own brands collection at the Totally DIY Show - the hugely well-received ‘Big Green Book’ is the definitive guide to their own label range - designed specifically for the independent retailer.

This year’s offering is a landmark edition, as Stax cash and carry introduce several new and re-launched brands, to give their customers a good to best proposition. These include: SP – a new premium plumbing and bathroom range; Picardy – a trade professional standard array of hand tools and hardware; Ambassador – a collection of deluxe garden tools and accessories; Glenwear – quality workwear and safety accessories; and of course Supa – the favourite choice for independents nationwide.

By the addition of these exciting brands Stax and Wishart now have one of the largest own brand portfolios, with over 3,000 products in the mix covering 10 extensive categories.

The new collection, which is packaged into a sturdy folder, features all 10 categories in separate mini catalogue sections, making it easier for customers to browse by range rather than by brand.Big Green Book

Own brands Purchase Director Simon Wright commented,

“Over a decade ago, Stax launched Supa to give independent retailers a brand that stands for great value, reliable quality, and crucially a brand that provides the independent retailer with a profitable range to compete with the superstore chain own labels.”

Wright continued,

“Now, a decade later, Supa is worth in excess of £30m retail annually. Its acceptance by consumers right across the country is tantamount to the huge success that independent retailers are having with the brand. Now armed with additional brands and ranges, positioned to tackle the more premium proposition, we’re confident that we are giving our retailers the real tools they need to survive in ever turbulent times.”

Stax’s level of commitment to the addition of new and innovative ranges has resulted in their own brand product range growing by more than 200% in the past 5 years. This is further evidenced by the total support and investment the wholesaler has made annually to their brand development and portfolio.

Wright added,

“Retailers stocking Stax and Wishart brands can be confident of the quality of our products. Almost all of our lines carry guarantees of between 2 and 40 years, and with that quality comes profitability – with margins often in excess of 50%.”
