As online sales continue to increase across markets a new study from Digital River has found that 86% of customers visit a brands website whilst shopping online. 31% would then change allegiance to a competitor upon arriving at a poorly designed website, where they couldn’t buy online.
Of 1,000 UK consumers a considerable 78% would buy from Amazon if unable to buy dir
ect. Retail outlets only attracting 22% of those surveyed. The draw for e-shoppers buying direct from the brand is the expectation of value, 49% expect to pay less.
For the younger market (18-24 year olds) 26% find online reviews an “important” influence on their behavior.
The report recommends a comprehensive journey, connecting clear pricing to product information, reviews and the ability to shop across devices.
