Another year of The Big Brands Show has passed, having grown annually year on year, and 2018 was no exception. Starting out at our Manchester branch over 2 days, visitors were met with a vast array of offers and deals. Feedback from the event was overwhelmingly positive from both exhibitors and customers alike.

Manchester Branch Manager, Mark Duff spoke about the event: “As always, we had such a great buzz about the branch over the two days. Feedback was fantastic with many suppliers commenting on the heavy footfall and volume of orders making it all worthwhile. The pallet deals went down especially well with our customers, with 446 sold in total.”

A week later we headed up to our Glasgow branch for the final day, which was again a roaring success with fantastic footfall as customers flocked in to take advantage of everything on offer.

Stax Glasgow were also big winners after being awarded Branch of the Year, as well as Section of the Year for their thriving gardening department! It stands testament to the great strides that have been made over the last 12 months for the youngest branch under the Stax banner. To top things off Rep of the Year was Marie Rossi of Scotland Central territory.

Steven Brady, Branch Manager at Stax Glasgow commented: “The Big Brands Show is a great time in branch and something we look forward to hosting! It’s great to have so many customers and suppliers under one roof and bridge the gap between the two.”

“It was also fantastic to be recognised for the hard work that everyone has put in here and be awarded for both branch and section. We’re the newest Stax branch and that brings its own challenges as we fight to establish ourselves in the market. I really can’t praise the great work from the staff here enough, we’ve come a long way in the last 12 months and this shows that it was all worth it.”

The event also saw the return of Stax Auction, which proved even more popular than it was in 2017 when it was introduced. An exciting last-minute bidding war saw customers walk away with fantastic deals on bundled lots with products from Picardy, Securit, Sterling, Town & Country, Chapelwood, Yale and many more.

As always, the event was used as an opportunity to do some good and raise much-needed funds for The Rainy Day Trust, the UK’s only home improvement and enhancement charity. Throughout the course of the 3 days, a massive £2,150 was raised which will go a long way to helping those who have fallen on hard times and their families. A huge thank you to all who have donated, those who would still like to can do so online at www.rainydaytrust.org.uk/donate/
