As we move towards a new season, many Brits start planning to spring clean their homes…
In fact, according to a nationwide spring cleaning survey from UKDN Waterflow, 73% of Brits actually engage in a spring clean yearly, meaning consumers will be heading out to stock up on all the supplies needed to make their homes gleam in time for spring.
Although sales of cleaning products have reduced since the global pandemic has ceased, consumers say they still need to ensure that their homes are clean and tidy in order to be fully productive.
Consumer trends are also now focusing on making home cleaning more sustainable. According to Mintel, 55% of UK consumers agree that there should be more sustainable cleaning equipment products available.
So, to help prepare consumers for the big spring clean sustainably, here are some dirt-busting must-haves to stock up on in order to maximise your sales this season.
Brushes, mops and dusters
Dust-busting is easy with the right equipment, that’s why brushes, mops and dusters are always popular with consumers – especially those who run busy family homes.
The trend for re-fillable mops is continuing into 2023, with products such as the Flash Powermop expected to remain popular with consumers.
Brands stocked by Stax, such as Groundsman, offer brushes and brooms with a sustainable edge, crafting their products from responsibly sourced wood that is FSC approved.

Multipurpose disinfectants
The pandemic made everyone aware of the importance of disinfectants and although sales have dropped since 2020, there is still a huge demand for household cleaners, especially those with a welcoming fresh fragrance.
Brands like Dettol, CIF and Astonish are still popular – however, the brand to stock up on this season is Zoflora. Thanks to Instagrammer Mrs Hinch, this nearly 100 year old disinfectant brand shot to fame after being deemed the cleaning star's favourite product, thanks to their beautiful range of scents with 99.9% disinfection.
There is also a continued demand for eco-friendly cleaners which use chemicals that aren’t harmful to the environment.

Textiles, sponges and cloths
Whether it’s dusting a mirror or doing the washing up, when it comes to cleaning, there is always a huge demand for textiles, sponges and cloths to get the job done. To boost sustainability, brands such as E-Cloth provide eco-friendly, washable waffle-weave designs that last up to 300 washes or three years, ensuring less waste goes to landfill.
