Facebook is a powerful tool. There’s no denying it. Not only is it a great way to keep up to date with friends and family, there are a number of practical applications too. Many tradespeople are using Facebook to generate leads and work for their business, and if you aren’t one of them, then maybe you should be…
In this post we’re going to list out a few ways you can use Facebook to generate new business leads.
Set up a Facebook business page
If you haven’t already set one up, you’ll need a Facebook business page. These have different features to a personal profile and additional tools to help businesses get their name out. You can link a business page to your personal profile, simply click ‘create page’ on the left hand panel, choose the most accurate listing description, fill in your information and you’re away!

2. Use Facebook Ads
Running advertisements on Facebook isn’t as tricky as it might sound. Now that you have a Facebook business account you can run ads on Facebook and boost your Facebook posts to a wider audience. You can advertise your skills in specific locations and use the powerful tools to choose the types of people you want to target.
Just a few examples of the targeting options available:
Age
Gender
Location
Whether they’re a homeowner
Interests
Facebook has a wide range of help articles and videos on how to run ads. Find more information on running Facebook ads here.
3. Share Before and After Pictures
This one might not apply to all trades. However, people love to see great projects on social media and even more so when they can see the difference your business has made. Take a picture before starting jobs and one after completion. Showcasing your work is a basic step towards getting more referrals through Facebook.
4. Ask Customers to Review Your Page
Business pages on Facebook allow people to review your business. If a customer seems particularly pleased with your work, why not ask them to head over to your page and leave a review. Anyone who finds your page will likely look there for an indicator of how good you work is.
Facebook is a great tool for spreading word about your business, and getting to grips with it isn’t as hard as it may first seem. These are just 4 of many ways it can be used to generate real, qualified leads. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for future updates.
