Stax are investing in a brand new fleet of delivery vehicles for the new Glasgow branch. Glasgow provides a delivered service across the whole of Scotland for independent retailers and garden centres, as well as a cash and carry option.
The new fleet is necessary to deal with the huge number of orders the branch is delivering since its opening in September and consists of 18 tonne, 12.5 tonne and 7.5 tonne wagons as well as a fleet of Mercedes Sprinter vans.
Operations Director, Nigel Wright, commented:
“Our investment in the new fleet provides us with the flexibility to deliver customer orders most efficiently and will give our Glasgow branch a sound platform to continue the expansion of our delivered operation across the whole of Scotland”.
The entire fleet will be of the highest specification ensuring drivers benefit from the latest safety technology as well as
the comfort of being fully air-conditioned. With the latest telematics technology installed, customers will be able to easily and accurately track the progress of their delivery and sign for it electronically, creating a paperless environment that automatically links to the main Stax IT systems.
Wright continued, “The new fleet will not only help improve the service we offer our Scottish customers but also improve the working environment of the drivers – a WIN WIN situation”.
