Rainy Day Trust is calling on all sectors in home improvement to get behind this year’s annual Christmas Appeal. 

We at Stax have been a long-term supporter of the Rainy Day Trust charity, which annually raises thousands to help those within our industry who have worked hard all their life when they fall in times of need. If you can help too, it would make a big difference!

Launching the appeal, charity CEO Bryan Clover said this year the pressure was still on for many people with concerns about energy and food prices and other bills. 

“At this time of year we always look to send out food hampers and vouchers to some of the most vulnerable people in our industries. The hampers will give them just a few of the nicer food items that you and I take for granted each Christmas; a small Christmas cake, mince pies and decent tea and coffee. 

“Nothing extravagant, but enough so that they feel like someone cares. The vouchers are sent to those that really are struggling the most as they need this extra money to buy the basics.” 

“This year, the hampers will also have a little extra – LED lightbulbs and ECO shower heads to help drive down energy bills in the long term. This also fits in with our recent activity in launching the Let’s Save Energy support package,” says Bryan. 

Rainy Day Trust’s Christmas Appeal aims to raise the money that the charity needs to deliver these important items. 

“Some people have already committed to making a donation as part of the Big Give initiative where donations are being doubled, but we need a lot more, so we’re asking for our industry’s help. 

“This might be a straight cash donation via our Appeal on JustGiving (see below) or running a Christmas Jumper Day this Friday 10th December – get your colleague to wear a festive jumper and donate £1 to us? 

Or why not do that warehouse clear out a bit early and donate stock for us to sell and help raise the money that we need? It all helps us to deliver a little extra help to our most vulnerable clients this Christmas. Whatever you can do, thank you, for caring enough to make a difference.”
