Developers are facing relaxed planning laws, to stimulate the building of more new homes. It is suggested that Developers could get automatic planning permission on disused industrial sites in England.
Business Secretary Sajid Javid revealed the plans in an attempt to boost productivity. New House building fell by 5.8% in May. This was the biggest decline in 4 years.

A total of 141,000 new homes were built last year. Although this is lower than the demand, it is expected that more new homes will be built in the next few years.
Mr Javid promised that he would get "Britain moving, building and learning". Mr Javid also added that, "The point of this is to make sure we build more homes, that local people are still rightly involved in those decisions and we find ways to speed it up”.
The Green belt remains protected, but it is expected that more large scale developments on Brown field sites will be green lighted. London is also going to be subjected to more relaxed planning rules.
