We all want to keep rats and mice out of our homes and gardens, but many people worry about using traps and poisons. That's where STV's new range of poison free The Big Cheese products come in.
We now know that conventional rodent baits can get into the food chain. Birds like owls and hawks prey on mice and rats that have previously eaten sub-lethal doses of poison. Hedgehogs have been found to be contaminated too, and every year many thousands of pet cats and dogs are treated for the effects of accidental rodenticide poisoning.
At STV, the team have been working on solutions to this problem, and the result is the launch of a new, innovative approach to DIY rodent control. The Big Cheese Poison Free range contains no harmful baits and is completely safe to wildlife and pets. It’s highly effective and ideal for use all around the home and the garden.
The Poison-free block bait is irresistible to rats and mice. It can be used in the specially designed Poison-Free bait stations or loaded into one of the Poison Free live catch traps. Both bait boxes and live catch traps allow close monitoring for any rodent activity so that appropriate action can be taken to control new infestations. There’s a range of seven products to cater for all situations.
The self-setting live catch traps are especially easy to use. They are ready-baited and with the trap set to monitoring mode, it’s very easy to see if there has been any new visiting rats or mice. When the block bait shows any signs of having been nibbled, it’s quick and easy to adjust the trap to capture the rat or mouse at their next visit.
No poison, no harm to the rodents and no risk to pets, children or wildlife.
