Johnstone’s has made its hugely popular Colourmate app available on the Android platform, meaning more decorators than ever can transform the way they think about colour when on site.
The free app, which was launched last year on iPhones, boasts significantly more colour features than any other paint app, with a focus on meeting the everyday demands faced by professional decorators and again shows the innovative approach to colour by Johnstone’s.
Johnstone’s dedication to colour is evident throughout the app, giving easy access to over 1600 colours from the Johnstone’s Trade fan deck, as well as providing decorators with the tools to create pallets of colour for each project. Once a colour has been selected, key information, such as its Light Reflectance Value and RGB values is presented. The selected colour can then be enlarged to hold it up against the wall to test its suitability, while there is also a harmonic colour function that will recommend suitable colours. The colours are laid out in the same order as the fan decks, with the page number on so both tools can be used to check the suitability of a colour.
Once the perfect colour palette for a project has been decided, detailed notes, such as room dimensions and paint finishes required can be added to the app and assigned to the client’s contact details within the phone’s address book, providing a quick reference point.
There is also a feature to locate the nearest Johnstone’s Decorating Centre or selected stockist to the location, as well as a news section to keep abreast of the latest offers on Johnstone’s products.
