It was a successful night for Stax Birmingham customers at this years 2016 DIY Week Awards held at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena as they walked away with no fewer than three of the Gold Awards on the night.
Broad Street DIY were named as retail communicators of the year, facing off competition from a number of other retailers in this hotly contested category.
Jason Robbins of Jefferies Hardware, a family run business who regularly shop at the Stax Birmingham branch, was awarded Store Manager of the Year.
It was also a particularly successful night for Birmingham customer the Old Railway Garden Centre who walked away with the Garden Retailer of the Year award, beating off a number of large garden centres to take the accolade for the third successive year, with Manager Kate Cleary commenting, “We are thrilled to have picked up such a prestigious award at the ceremony last night for the third year running as we were up against some very stiff competition. We strive to provide the best range and retail experience for our customers as we can and we enter these type of awards to ensure that our standards don’t slip.”
Stax Birmingham Manager, David Skully, who was at the event to support his customers commented, “We are lucky to count some great independently owned businesses amongst our customers. We had a number of winners here last year and I speak on behalf of Stax when I say it gives us great pleasure to see some of our most loyal retailers do so well. The passion and professionalism within these small businesses and the knowledge of the DIY sector sets them apart against much larger competitors on the high street.”
The DIY Week Awards were launched in 2011 and are designed to reward and recognize not only the products and innovation that keep the DIY and garden sector exiting but also the retailer and others who contribute to the continued success of the industry.
