Once again, the annual Big Brands Show has exceeded expectation and just when we thought it couldn’t get any bigger, it beat last years’ attendance record.

The Glasgow and Manchester Stax branches hosted their busiest shows since the first one that took place in 2010. Stax customers flocked to all three days of the event to make the most of the limited time offers and deals that the show has become known for.

Not only were there more visitors, 2017 was also a record year for exhibitors with more leading brands than ever signing up to be at both events. The event also featured a number of competitions, giveaways, exclusive product demonstrations and the ever popular ‘meet the reps’.

All new for the 2017 show was the incredibly popular silent auction feature which generated a lot of attention and even more bids. Visitors were able to bid on a variety of discounted lots, either online or in-store, featuring a wide variety of product lines with the possibility of grabbing an unbelievable bargain in the process. The lots were made up of products from leading brands such as Fiskars, Scott’s, Town and Country, Karcher, Draper, Sterling and Black & Decker.

Stax Joint Managing Director, David Hibbert commented: “It’s become an important date in the retail diary and we’re always surprised at how much it grows year on year! Once again it was a fantastic event with some incredible brands and lots of visitors. We’re not ones to rest on success though and we’ll start work soon on making sure 2018 is even better!”

Feedback from both exhibitors and visitors to both shows was resoundingly positive with many claiming that the familiar in branch format, but with new and improved features each year is what keeps them coming back. Another key reason was the ability to become familiar with the reps from leading brands, such as the lads from Ronseal, Tony Inge from Sterling and Chris Nobel from Town & Country, to name just a few. In addition, there has already been a lot of interest from exhibitors to book for next year’s shows after generating record-breaking sales this year.
