Stax Trade Centres have been named Wholesaler of the Year at the 2022 Mica Supplier Awards.

The event was held at the Quay Hotel in Deganwy, Aberconwy. Mica was pleased to bring the event back to Wales for the second time, and North Wales for the first time.

The 2022 Mica Supplier Awards are part of The Mica Exchange event, a gathering of its membership and supplier base which includes a speed dating networking event, followed by a black tie gala dinner and awards ceremony.

Nigel Wright, Stax Operations Director, said: “It’s an excellent event for the members and suppliers in a lovely setting. It was very pleasing to see some new faces as well as seeing old friends and customers.”

The event featured big name suppliers including Crown Paints, Draper Tools, LG Harris, Rug Doctor and Sherwin Williams alongside Mica’s preferred wholesaler Stax Trade Centres.

Nigel explained: “The members were very complimentary about the Stax team. I believe the majority of members will take advantage of the show’s offers and extra discounts on Stax brands, as well as placing orders for the Big Brands promotions.”

Michael Ball, Business Unit DIrector at Mica DIY Ltd, congratulated Stax on their win, saying: “I’m delighted the entire Stax team have been recognised by the Mica membership this year with the Wholesaler of the Year Award.

Who are Mica?

Mica are a co-operative voluntary trading group, owned by members who are all first-class independent hardware stores. They help their retailer members compete with larger hardware stores.
