We're delighted to announce that we have won the coveted ‘Best DIY/Builder Merchant Buying Team' award at the Glee Buyers Power List 2017 held at NEC Birmingham.

The annual awards are aimed at celebrating the most talented buyers in the garden retail industry, an area in which we place immense value and seek to continually improve. The category itself was incredibly competitive, with shortlisted names including B&Q, Homebase, Wickes, Jewson and Home Hardware.

We bolstered our buying team earlier this year with a number of a new hires, which we believed has given our team more freedom and flexibility, helping them to operate effectively. The move was part of ongoing investment in order to increase our buying power and further strengthen our overall garden and outdoor portfolio.

Stax Purchasing Director, Simon Wright was there to accept the award alongside his team, he commented: “It’s a fantastic win in a very competitive category that we’re over the moon with. We have incredibly strong relationships with our suppliers that we have cultivated over the years. We firmly believe that a strong buying team is the best way to ensure we can offer our customers the best brands at the lowest prices.”
