Nationwide cash & carry and delivered wholesaler, Stax Trade Centres, has recently celebrated a significant milestone, presenting long service awards to more than 10% of its entire workforce.
In total, awards were presented to 56 members of staff from the company’s cash and carry depots in Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and Bristol at the recent Christmas parties. The company acknowledges 10 years, 20 years and more recently, 25 and 30 years of service, presenting employees with a Long Service certificate and gift.
Stax Chairman, Eddie Brady, commented,
“We have always known, since the early days of Stax, that the quality of our staff and the relationships they have with our customers has been key to us being able to grow to the company we are today. I am delighted that our labour turnover remains incredibly low and that we still have five members of staff who were with us on Day 1 and many others who have been with us over 20 years”.
“All Stax employees are encouraged to undertake regular training and we’re very proud to be able to offer a career with mapped out progression. We have always tried to promote from within believing in rewarding loyal and hard working staff – with many of the senior management team testament to this. IT Director, Della Butler, joined us aged just 16 and is now on the Board of Directors. Range Negotiator, Aaron Sanders, was another young recruit who has worked at both the Leeds and Manchester branches before being promoted to Range Negotiator and Manchester Branch Manager Mark Duff, is another stand out staff member, who quickly rose through the ranks to where he is today.” continued Brady.
As a company of more than 560 employees, Stax also has a number of staff who have encouraged other family members to join the team, with husbands, wives and children all working for the same company. With so many varied roles from purchasing, accounting & finance, operations and more, Stax can truly offer a job and career to suit anyone.
