We like to do our bit for charitable causes at Stax Trade Centres, and when we were approached to donate a prize for a fundraising night in aid of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kidney Patient Fund we were only too happy to help.

The fundraising night, named ‘Gift of Life, was devised by Jeff Baker after he received the donation of a new kidney from his sister in law at the hospital in December. The aim of the night was to raise awareness of live donors and donations for the kidney fund for people who are waiting for a transplant or on dialysis.

In total the night raised a stunning £3,500 for the charity. The lucky winner of the TV donated by Stax was Liz Wallace who we sincerely hope enjoys her prize.

Another heartwarming moment from the event came when Jeff presented his sister in law with a Harley Davidson motorbike in recognition of her generous gift to him.

A great night for an extremely worthy cause!
