If you’ve ever seen a plumber with a big smile on his face, it might be because according to new research they’re in a profession that tops the table for being happy in life!

The research was conducted by experiences company, Boundless who surveyed employees across the country for their happiness index study. Employees were asked questions on their attitude towards work and their life in general and 55% of plumbers stated they were very happy in life.

Astonishingly, not a single plumber who was surveyed stated that they were unhappy at work. They also ranked highly for quality of sleep and physical activity and 64% were said to be making the most of life outside of work by trying new things often.

It’s not bad news if you’re a builder either as they came a close second in the study with 38% stating they were very happy. All of this would suggest that tradespeople are typically happier than office workers, especially when compared to those who work in advertising where 42% said they were unhappy in life.

That settles it then, when life gives you lemons, grab a pipe wrench and get to work!
