Rainy Day Trust responds to the cold weather with emergency Winter fuel payment

Much of the UK has seen temperatures plummet in the last couple of days with the forecasted weather

Published 13th January 2017

Much of the UK has seen temperatures plummet in the last couple of days with the forecasted weather warnings us to get used to it for a while.

This presents a problem for those who are already struggling as it means the cost of heating the home can rise as temperatures fall. In response, Rainy Day Trust has launched a new emergency fuel payment of £50 towards heating costs for those who work, or have worked, within the home improvement or enhancement industry.

CEO, Bryan Clover commented: “If you know of someone from the home improvement industry who is struggling financially, then please point them to this new emergency payment. It is a one-page form to complete and submit, and we will turn around applications very quickly. To qualify they must have worked in our industries for three years, earn less than £16,000 a year and have low savings. All applications are completely confidential.”

Get more information on the emergency fuel payment by calling Rainy Day Trust on 0203 192 0486 or visit www.rainydaytrust.org.uk. You can also download the application form from their Facebook page here.
