Specialist bird care supplier Marriage’s has revealed a new distribution deal that will see it

Specialist bird care supplier Marriage’s has revealed a new distribution deal that will see its products now become available through the UK’s leading independent wholesale and cash and carry operator. Marriage’s Honeyfield’s range of bird food and feeders, and a selection of its RSPB-endorsed premium wild bird products, will now be distributed by Stax Trade Centres where they will complement Stax’s existing Ambassador bird-care lines.
“Sealing a distribution deal with a long-established and highly-respected supplier such as Marriage’s in a major step forward for us as it allows us to offer a significantly greater choice to our customers,” explains Stax Trade Centres purchasing director, Simon Wright. “Marriage’s is widely regarded as an expert wild bird food specialist that provides very high-quality products. They also place great emphasis on ethical trading, and on working with the UK’s rural community and the RSPB to conserve our natural habitat. We fully support those aims, so we’re very pleased that we can put their products before our 50,000 customers across the UK and help with their work.”
Stax will now be offering customers 44 different Honeyfield’s lines, plus 61 RSPB endorsed products, giving them access to a wide range of different feed options and easy-fill feeder units. Customers will be able to place orders by phone, online, in-store or via their dedicated Stax representative, and they’ll enjoy fast, 1-3 day delivery turnarounds.
“We’ll be supporting customers with point-of-sale material, competitive prices and a minimum order of just £300 which they’ll be able to make up using any of the 45,000 other product lines we offer,” adds Simon. “This creates a far more flexible stocking option for the independent retailer who can purchase little and often if they wish and remain in complete control.
“The UK bird care market is extremely important to many of our garden centre and other retail customers, and the Marriage’s products are leaders in that market, so the distribution deal is excellent news us. At Stax we’re always looking to go one step further in our support of the independent retailer and create new profit opportunities for them, and by offering them greater choice from a recognised supplier such as Marriage’s we’re doing exactly that.”
Marriage’s managing director, Sam Marriage, added: “We have invested a lot into developing the Honeyfield’s and RSPB product ranges at Marriage’s. We see the distribution deal with Stax Trade Centres as the best way to deliver the logistics and expertise required to support the retailer’s need to get quality product on the shelf. We’re very pleased to be working in partnership with Stax Trade Centres as the new arrangement will help ease ordering arrangements for our valued customers. It will also allow us to service a new set of customers who may previously have struggled to reach minimum order requirements, and who need a prompt and efficient delivery service.”
