It's the simple things that work best.
Putting one foot in front of the other, out in the open air has enormous benefits for our mental health. 10,000 steps a day does us a power of good.
The Rainy Day Trust are starting to gear up for the Mad March Million 2022 and wondered if you and your business would like to take part this year and help them through a wee bit of fundraising?  It's not a marathon, or an Iron Man, but it does get people outside.
The concept of the Mad March Million is simple - getting out and about and just walking is great for your mental health. The open air allows you to clear your head of the regular stresses and strains and getting into a routine for a month helps because it forces you to go out each day to hit your step count.  The concept is simple. A small team of 3 or 4 aims to walk a total of 1 million steps in the month of March - about 10,000 steps per day for each member, getting sponsored along the way.
As you will know, the left side of the brain controls the right side of the body and vice versa. Using both sides alternatively and consistently is called bi-lateral movement and that allows your brain to process your worries without having to sit and stare at your navel!
Teams that took part last year said that they felt great afterwards and that they found it helpful to be compelled to get out and do their steps each day.
To quote Elizabeth Barrett Browning:

The little cares which fretted me,
I lost them yesterday
Among the fields, above the sea,
Among the winds at play

If you would like to join in, please contact Brian Clover on bryan@rainydaytrust.org.uk for a flyer and registration form - they will also send you a water bottle for everyone that registers.  Individuals can pay their own registration fee, or the company can pay for everyone.
