The Ladder exchange has begun again, trade in old, potentially dangerous ladders up until the end of the year!
Run by the Ladder Association for three years now, the Chairman, Cameron Clow, said,
“This is our third year running the Ladder Exchange, which has been an excellent means of getting out the ladder safety message while helping people in a practical way. Thousands of ladders were traded in last year, saving a lot of people and businesses money and, more importantly, hopefully lives as well.”
The aim is to promote the safety of those working up ladders, the new HSE guidance released earlier this year outlines the proper instruction on how to use the equipment safely in potentially dangerous workplaces.
The guidance goes on to outline UK-wide ladder training schemes, which are approved by The Ladder Association. This year’s exchange does include expert tips for using ladders in the home and how to personally check the condition.
To highlight the dangerous of ladder use the Exchange is running its popular “Idiots on Ladders contest”. People are invited to send in pictures of dangerous ladder use, the winner will then be decided by public vote!
