‘Three-in-one’ trade show, Totally DIY: Totally Tools: Totally Secure, has introduced a new strapline, ‘It’s where the trade trades’, along with a picture of a tool box anyone would be proud to own, to promote the show this year.
The visitor promotional campaign for the 2012 shows includes a new look website, new on page and online ads, a comprehensive direct mail and email campaign and sponsorship of the industry leading DIY Week Awards.
Visitor registration via the show website www.totallydiy.com has already gone live. All pre-registered visitors, who also attend the show, will automatically be in the running to win one of two free trips to the fabulous city of Las Vegas, where they will receive VIP Visitor treatment when they attend the massive National Hardware Show in May 2012! Previous winners of this trip have been the proprietors of independent hardware stores Bunce’s Home Hardware and Gill & Co.
Exhibitor bookings for the shows, now in their 18th year, are tracking well against the same time last year. Show sales director Paul Grinsell commented,
“The show is poised to grow again this year as it continues to exploit and develop its co-location with Spring Fair International and build on this year’s 15% growth in space.”
The shows have been pleased to welcome back many of its regular brands and companies including, on the tools front – AW Tools, Abingdon King Dick, Amtech, Arrow Fastener, Cannon Tools, Draper Tools, Monument Tools, Positec Power Tools, Rolson Tools and Veto Tools. In the DIY and hardware sector Big Wipes, Centurion Europe, Chain Products, Ciret, Coo Var, Gorilla Glue, Jegs Electrical, JMS Bridge, King Cole, London & Lancashire, Oracstar, Procter Brothers, Rothley, Select Hardware, Shurtape, Sika UK, Trimaco and Trollull (Oscar Weill) are all back for another year, and decorative product suppliers include Liberon, Plasti-kote, Rustins and Tor Coatings.
New companies trying out the show at the NEC for the first time in 2012, and those returning to the show after a break include Bartoline, Bemis Europe Blue Dolphin Tape (XL Tape International), Birchwood Price Tools, Blue Spot, Bond-it, Cathedral Products, Chaselink, Enta Technologies, Ewbank, Karcher UK, Keller Instruments, Murpak, NexTorch, which is also supplying free keyring LED torches for visitors, Worldwide Tools and The Wardle Group, which will be showcasing no less than six leading brands - Kimberly Clark, Isaberg Rapid, Personna International, D&D Technologies, C.H. Hanson and Insulated Tools Ltd.
“The shows’ new strapline reinforces our credentials as a trade show for retailers,” said show director James Murray.
“Totally is where retailers, from the multiples to the high street, from garden centres to department stores and online and TV, come to find their DIY and related products and see them in action.
“This year we’re encouraging even more exhibitors to come and show off their products in our central show feature the ‘Retail Tool Box’, and we’ll be weaving some good industry research from the leading names in amongst the product demonstrations that will be of interest to visitors and exhibitors alike.”
Once again the show is fully supported by the industry’s leading trade associations BIRA, which will be presenting its annual supplier awards at the show, BHETA and GIMA, and principal wholesale and marketing groups Stax Trade Centres, Home Hardware Southwest and Mica DIY.
The 2012 show will also mark the year the Shows started using social media as they now have their own Twitter account, @totallyshows and Facebook page, Totally DIY-Tools-Secure.
“In this way the show acts as a positive platform for getting news out to buyers long before the doors open in February!” said James.
The Totally Shows will run in Hall 16 at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham on Sunday 5th, Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th February. As in the previous two years the Totally Shows open days will coincide with Spring Fair International which will occupy the rest of the NEC complex and be open from 4th to 9th February.
