Ironmongery importer & distributor M.P. Smith & Co has plans to expand into niche markets after undergoing a recent facelift including new branding and packaging.
M.P. Smith & Co, which was founded by Mike Smith in the mid- 1970s, is best known in the UK ironmongery industry for its brand name Securit. The company, which operates a 50,000-square-foot distribution centre in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, specialises in supplying hardware to DIY wholesalers throughout the UK and Europe. The synonymous SECURIT brand has been refreshed and is also now supported by new brands SECURFIX, SECURPAK, SECURLEC, and SECURPLUMB.
”As an importer and distributor, we have built our business on sourcing and packaging a diverse range of products for the trade under the Securit brand.” said M.P. Smith & Co Business Development Manager James Ball.
“We have added more lines and categories over the years, and now seemed like a good time to review our portfolio to better segment by range to reflect the quality of the products and elevate them from a generic product to a branded offer. We’ve also launched the SMITHS Range of Architectural door handles & hardware. Customers who have recently visited their local Stax branch will have noticed the new displays, which we hope will provide an even better and easier shopping experience,” he added.
As part of the refresh, M.P. Smith & Co also plans to give its vehicles new liveries. The first one has already hit the road, as pictured above alongside the 50-strong team at M.P. Smith & Co’s Brighouse headquarters.
