Gary Neville is set to build on his generous offer to the homeless by fitting new plumbing facilities at the site on Norfolk Road, Manchester city centre. The Manchester United legend has already offered The Stock Exchange building in Manchester City Centre to the homeless to use. Gary Neville allowed them access after hearing that they were squatting, he also announced that he would allow them to stay over winter whilst they look for a long term solution.

Gary Neville meeting

Manchester has seen a large rise in homeless protests and camps moving around the city centre over the past few months. The homeless protesters will surely welcome Mr Neville’s comments and generosity. He bought the 1906 built Grade-II listed building to add to his growing development portfolio. Another United legend, and current 1st team assistant Ryan Giggs, is also part of the venture. They plan to develop the historic building into a plush 35-bed boutique hotel. Rumour has it that the Hotel will also feature a members bar, gym, spa and restaurant. It is expected to further boost Manchester’s growing economy and status as an event and leisure destination city.

There has been a little bit of confusion when it emerged that some homeless had been refused entry to the building. A homeless spokesperson said that this was down to a violent altercation though and wasn’t what they wanted on site. Some councilors have called the on-going protests a ‘pantomime’ and say that they are doing all they can to help the homeless.

A group of homeless turned up again over the weekend at the property, complaining about lack of entry. Police were once again called out to deal with the disturbance. The building is said to be at capacity and as such tensions are high. The current residents are said to be appreciative of Mr Neville’s generosity.
