With restrictions still forcing many people to stay indoors, the demand for renovations and home improvements has surged, causing the need for tradespeople across all areas of the UK to rise impressively.

Research from Quotezone.co.uk suggests it’s not all doom and gloom. Jobs in the industry have increased by 63% during the pandemic, with some of the most sought-after tradies including Joiners and Builders.

The data compiled the top ten list of trade occupations for 2020 and compared them to the 12 months beforehand. It was a good time to be a Joiner, with a staggering 66.6% increase, whilst Builders also enjoyed a 57.7% increase in demand too.

Elsewhere in the top ten, Handyman moved up from 8th to 5th position with a massive 123% increase from 2019, whilst painters and decorators weren’t far behind with a 122.7% jump over the same time period.
