The annual charity karting event hosted by Stax Trade Centres raised over £2,500 for home improvement charity Rainy Day Trust.
For the first time, the event was held in two locations, one in the North and one in the South. All funds raised were all in aid of Rainy Day Trust, the UK’s only charity that supports the home improvement workforce and their families during times of need.
The Northern event, hosted by Stax, was held as a 3-hour grand prix style format and took place at Team Sport HQ in Warrington. 11 teams competed for the top spot on the day, but it was Workhouse Marketing that took 1st place with an impressive 1, 2 podium finish for brothers Jamie and Chris Brown, with Jamie also claiming the fastest lap of the day.
2nd place went to Hibbert Homes and 3rd to CIC who both put in highly competitive performances. The award for fastest lady on the day was claimed by Lindsey from ZEP.
The Southern competition, hosted by Bryan Clover from Rainy Day Trust, was held in a 90 minute Le Mans style endurance race and took place at M4 Karting in Chippenham. Toolbank, who aptly named their team ‘Here to Win’ finished the day on top of the podium out of 6 teams with an impressive display.
Henkel came in 2nd, followed by L G Harris who claimed the final spot on the podium in 3rd place. Fastest lady in the South went to Lozza from AkzoNobel.
Stax Managing Director, David Hibbert commented:
“It’s always a great day for the karting event and it was fantastic to be able to hold it over two locations this year for the first time. The Rainy Day Trust is a charity that’s close to our hearts and it’s always great to be able to help raise some money for them and have some fun in the process.”
“All of the teams were competitive and the turnout was fantastic as always. We’re already looking forward to hosting the event again next year. Well done to everyone who was involved”.
