The hit Netflix series Adolescence, which is currently sitting at number one in the UK, has been making waves with its powerful storyline, emotional performances, and now… a special connection to Stax Trade Centres!

In Episode 4, viewers watch as the main character and his family visit a DIY store called Wainwrights - a pivotal scene in the series (no spoilers!). What many may not realise is that a vast quantity of the props and stock featured in the store were provided by Stax. From shelves packed with products to SupaDec ladders prominently displayed, Stax played a key role in bringing the DIY store scene to life.
The critically acclaimed series stars Stephen Graham and Ashley Walters, two celebrated actors delivering standout performances in this powerful drama.
Mark Duff, Branch Manager at Stax Leeds, shared his thoughts on the exciting opportunity:
"It’s been on all the chat shows, and it’s incredible to see how much buzz the series has created. At first, I didn’t put the name and face together, then you realise it’s Stephen Graham, and you remember all the amazing films he’s been in. It’s a powerful storyline, and having an actor of his calibre delivering such a hard-hitting message to audiences worldwide makes it even more impactful. There’s definitely a nice sense of achievement knowing Stax played a small part in making that scene happen.”
Our involvement in Adolescence is a fantastic example of Stax’s versatility, whether supporting trade professionals, retailers, or even the entertainment industry!
