Local people in need have received a helping hand from Stax Bristol.

The Bristol branch has donated a range of kitchen equipment and consumable items to the Bristol arm of the Foodcycle team, which provide free meals for the community at Barton Hill Settlement.

“We stock a huge range of homewares and kitchen equipment for our independent retail customers,” says Rob Best, manager of the Stax Bristol branch. “When we heard about the great work that the Foodcycle team do we felt we had to help out and provide them with some of the items they need to keep helping local people.”

“Our team, many of whom are dedicated volunteers, work extremely hard to create a welcoming atmosphere and a delicious hot meal for the people who come to us, and so we were delighted when Stax contacted us about making a donation,” explains Foodcycle’s Regional Manager, Justin Powell. “We were invited to the Stax warehouse where the staff were keen to help us to fulfil our very big shopping list!

“They provided us with a huge range of items - everything from cutting boards and tea towels through to cooking rings and hand wash. These sorts of items are really vital to the work we do. They will make a great difference in helping us cook and supply a 3-course meal to people who appreciate it, so we’re very grateful to Stax for their generosity.”

Stax have made donations to a number of similar organisations in other parts of the country.
