It’s been a busy few months for Stax Trade Centres… record end of year results in August, more promotions than ever before and, perhaps most significantly, two Big Brands Trade Shows for the company’s savvy retailer contingent.
Following on from the success of the Manchester Big Brands Trade Show in September, the pressure was on to deliver another fantastic event – this time North of the border in Scotland, at Edinburgh’s prestigious Dynamic Earth venue.
With over 70 exhibitors, well over 100 of the industry’s biggest brands were represented at the show, giving Stax and Wishart’s most northerly retailers an unparalleled product choice and expert advice – not to mention exclusive deals, free giveaways and a whole host of prizes on offer.
From 10am, visitors queuing to enter the show were greeted by Edinburgh’s local Olympic medal-winning hero David Florence, who officially opened the event with Wishart MD George Gardner.
With a bigger venue than any previous Wishart Trade Show and city centre location, exhibitors appreciated the extra space to demonstrate products, showcase new ones and talk to key retail customers.
Max Burnham, exhibiting for Mykal, thought this year’s show was a big improvement on previous Wishart Trade shows,
“The venue was excellent, the customer interest was excellent, and with the amount of orders we took, we were more than happy!”
Richard Barker, Walsall Wheelbarrows National Sales Manager, commented,
"We achieved a 50% increase in sales compared to the 2011 Wishart show and the feedback from customers was very positive with a large number placing orders on the day."
Customers similarly expressed their admiration of the event, the overwhelming majority favouring the new format and venue – John from Shepherd and Miller commented,
"The trade show was excellent and we can't wait for next year now!"
With the success of both shows, the Big Brands Trade Show has now firmly cemented its position within the trade show calendar, as Stax Joint MD David Hibbert comments,
“After Stax bought Wishart, the company inherited some excellent customers who have a real passion for the industry. I’d like to thank all our customers and suppliers for supporting this event and for the fantastic feedback we’ve had from both Big Brands Trade Shows. We will soon be confirming dates for the 2013 shows and looking at how we can improve both events even further.”
