Lucky Stax customer Ged Burke, of Manchester based G.B. Builders, has driven away a brand new Citroen Berlingo Van courtesy of Stax Trade Centres.
The Win a Van competition was part of Stax’ biggest ever marketing campaign which ran from September to January, coinciding with the opening of their new 100,000 square foot Glasgow branch.
All customers purchasing from Stax between September and January were given a key code to try and open the safe to win the van. In a bizarre twist, despite over 100,000 tickets being handed out over the course of the four months, the winning ticket was never redeemed.
The decision was then made that all customers, who had shopped at any Stax branch during January, would be entered into a prize draw. With the winner being randomly selected once the competition had reached its conclusion.
Stax Joint MD, David Hibbert comments, “The ‘Win a Van’ promotion has been one of our most popular competitions with thousands of customers trying the safes in reception as they visited the branches. We were surprised when all the tickets had been given out and there was still no winner. We made a big push to remind customers to check their vans, pockets and overalls to see if they were carrying the winning ticket. Unfortunately, the winner never came forward, so we thought the fairest way to conclude the competition would be to put all customers into a prize draw.
Lucky winner Ged commented, “I couldn't believe it when I got a phone call from Stax to say I had won the van! It was just total disbelief! Words cannot explain how thrilled I am to have won. The timing couldn’t have been better, as I travel across the country renovating care homes, and my current Transit wasn’t proving economical. Mr Burke continued, “I have been a Stax Trade Centres customer for years, and use them as my main supplier. The staff are fantastic, the stock choice and availability is great, and the pricing is second to none. Frankly speaking, I would not like to consider where my business would be if it was not for Stax Trade Centres”.
