Following the successful launch of the Stax 2009 Gardening catalogue, the UK’s leading Garden, DIY and Hardware wholesaler, Stax Trade Centres has announced the recruitment of specialist sales staff to support their growth in the gardening sector.
Stax has realised a significant rise in demand within this sector, after introducing their delivered service to independent garden centre retailers - and the company has responded by enrolling a team of 7 experienced representatives to help their customers thrive.
Covering the surrounding regions of each of the 4 Stax branches, Stax Operations Director, Nigel Wright, commented,
“Since we expanded our operations within the delivered wholesale garden sector, the demand has been phenomenal. Retailers are conscious that we carry a massive product range from all the major brands and our big buying power means our customers constantly get the best deals.”
The 7 new reps are strategically placed to service the Stax customer base, giving help and advice on an ad hoc basis. Covering North Wales and the North West, including West Lancashire, Manchester and Cumbria, David Fairless and Julie Madgin bring a wealth of experience to the new posts – having gained previous experience with Solus and Spread respectively.
Covering the North East and parts of East Anglia, Chris Hilton and Fiona Farrar will bring a combined industry experience of 37 years, working with the likes of Elho and in Stax as a Gardening Section Manager.
Servicing the Midlands, Caroline Houghton and Sandra Meaney bring experience from Spread, John Lewis and Texas Homecare between them, and in the South West and South Wales, Nigel Thomas has gained regional knowledge with Tom Chambers Ltd and Foxmoor - supporting the local garden centres for over 15 years.
Nigel Wright commented,
“This significant investment in our staffing tallies with plans to continue our expansion into the garden sector and meet the growing demands of our customers. We have arguably the best range of products at Stax, including SupaGarden – the retailer’s own brand, which offers significant margins and guaranteed quality.”
