New ranges, new lines & new packaging for Supa

The new year will see new ranges, new lines and new packaging for the Supa brand. Born from the desire to support independent retailers with a well packaged quality brand, giving good margins whilst still being competitively priced against the multiples, Supa currently consists of over 2,000 lines and is worth £18m in retail sales. This expansion of the range will further enhance the brand.

Stax Buying Director, Simon Wright, commented,

“Supa is a massive brand for retailers and we are projecting sales to double in the next 5 years and in response to demand we are continually sourcing new manufacturers and suppliers who can provide quality products to enhance the range. The next phase in the brand’s development will be a major increase in lines during 2008 which will begin early in the new year when we will add over 60 lines to the SupaTool range, 60 lines to the SupaHome range and an extra 30 SupaGarden lines. In addition we will be repackaging a number of existing products to bring them in line with the new corporate style”.

The new SupaTool lines will include drill bit sets in the most popular sizes, jigsaw blades, plastic clamps, wire strippers and cutters, hex keys and core drills. The drill bits are titanium coated to give both additional strength and added quality thereby giving a longer life and even better value for money.

Additions to SupaHome will include a new range of pest control products including fly swats and mouse traps, new clothes lines and peg products, a range of wire clothes airers and additions to the existing choice of ironing boards, bathroom scales, chrome bins and mugs. All the new lines will be presented in new style eye catching red and black packaging which has already been launched for some SupaHome lines, and will be extended to the whole range during 2008.

The popular SupaGarden range will expand to include a selection of quality hosepipes and fittings as well as additions to composts. In addition during 2008 new packaging will be unveiled for garden gloves, water sprayers, trellis, canes, garden tools and composts, grow bags and bark.

“It is important that the Supa brand gives retailers a comprehensive range with quality products that have impact on their shelves and we are continually working with suppliers to ensure we achieve this” continued Wright. “The growth of the brand in recent years has been rapid and we are confident that this will accelerate over the next five years as more and more retailers discover the benefits of stocking the Supa portfolio of products”.
